Double-sided MCPCB
Double-sided metal-core PCB
Double-sided MCPCB with traces on both sides of the core stack, for LED and power paths that need more routing than a single layer.
Published specification
| Parameter | Published value |
|---|---|
| Construction | Double sided: traces on both sides of the core stack |
| Core metal | Aluminum or copper |
| Dielectric thermal conductivity | About 0.8–3.0 W/m·K, stack-up dependent |
| Dimensional stability | About 2.5–3.0% size change from 30 °C to 140–150 °C, typical |
| Other published constructions | Single layer, COB, multilayer, and SinkPad are separate builds |
| Primary benefit | Heat removal from LEDs and power devices through the metal base |
Where this applies
LED and power circuits that need traces on both sides of a metal-core stack.
This is the published double-sided construction, with traces on both sides of the core stack. It is not the multilayer build and it is not a SinkPad build. The fab grid is confirmed from Gerbers.
Questions
How is double-sided different from single-layer?
Single-layer is one trace layer on the metal core. Double-sided puts traces on both sides of the core stack.
Is this the same as SinkPad?
No. SinkPad is listed as its own thermoelectric construction.
